Theater

Themed

Makerspace

Welcome to The Prop Shop, a combined exhibit and program space that takes visitors behind the the scenes of a theater.  Visitors work the lights, control the curtain, and make their own theater props.  This exhibit opened spring of 2017 at Kaleideum Downtown, formerly the Children's Museum of Winston-Salem, in North Carolina.

I developed, prototyped, and evaluated maker activities including marionette building, hat/wig/mask construction, shadowpuppet creation, and building with wire.  I researched and documented makerspace best-practices.  And I worked with the team to raise funding, shape the layout, and evaluate the finished exhibit.
